Sami Norrbacka replaces Pekka Lampinen on the bass 28 Nov 2009

Sami Norrbacka is the new member of Leverage. The original bass player Pekka Lampinen has stepped aside for private reasons. Norrbacka has been Leverage's live bass player for all of '09, and is now an official member of the band.

The band comments

"Pekka Lampinen is an awesome musician, and we've been lucky to have him in this band. A big thank you for that, bro. We wish you all the best and good health.

Sami has practically been in the band band for some time already filling in for Pekka live. He's proven he's a rock solid player and a great guy to work with. So when this situation emerged, it was a given that we'd ask him to become a permanent member of Leverage. Welcome aboard!"

"Many friendly fans have asked on several forums about the whereabouts of Pekka Lampinen. I announce now, that I am no longer a member of Leverage. The reasons are a personal matter. I've been with the band all the way from the beginning, but now it is time to take some distance. This doesn't mean that I will abandon making music all together, but that now there is time to heal and gather strength for the future. I want to thank the whole band for the times together, and especially the loyal fans that have year in year out come to the gigs and supported this great band. It is good to continue on from here.

For me it is like coming home, because I have known some of these talented guys for so long and because I have been a fan of Leverage from the beginning. Sami Norrbacka korvaa Pekka Lampisen Leveragessa 28 Nov 2009

Leveragen uudeksi basistiksi on kiinnitetty Sami Norrbacka. Bändin alkuperäinen basisti Pekka Lampinen joutuu jäämään sivuun henkilökohtaisista syistä. Norrbacka on soittanut Leveragen live-esiintymiset jo pitkään ja on nyt bändin virallinen jäsen.

"Pekka Lampinen on huikea muusikko, ja olemme olleet onnekkaita saadessamme soittaa hänen kanssaan. Suuri kiitos siitä. Toivomme hänelle hyvää jatkoa ja vointia.

Sami on ollut käytännössä bändimme jäsen jo pitkään tuuratessaan Pekkaa keikoilla. Hän on osoittanut olevansa kaikin tavoin mies paikallaan, ja kun tämä tilanne tuli eteen oli itsestäänselvää pyytää häntä Leveragen uudeksi basistiksi. Tervetuloa!"

"Monet ystävälliset fanit ovat kyselleet eri foorumeilla, mihin Pekka Lampinen on kadonnut. Ilmoitan nyt, etten ole enää osana Leveragea. Syyt ovat henkilökohtaiset. Olin alusta asti mukana ryhmässä, mutta nyt on hyvä aika ottaa etäisyyttä. Se ei tarkoita sitä, että hylkäisin musiikin teon kokonaan vaan että nyt on hyvää aikaa parantua ja kerätä voimia tulevaan. Haluan kiittää koko Leverage-ryhmää yhteistyöstä ja varsinkin uskollisia faneja, jotka ovat vuodesta toiseen tulleet keikkoja katsomaan ja diggailemaan loistavaa bändiä. Tästä on hyvä jatkaa."

"On suuri kunnia olla Leveragen uusi basisti. Tämä tuntuu kotiinpaluulta, koska olen tuntenut jotkut näistä lahjakkaista kavereista jo todella pitkään ja olen ollut Leverage-fani alusta asti. Pyrin jatkamaan bassomaestro Pekka Lampinen hienoa työtä, jota hän bändin kanssa teki ja toivotan Pekalle kaikkea parasta! Nähdään keikoilla, ystävät Myrskyn ratsastajat!
