Springfield, VA: Where History and Fun Converge

As part of the Fairfax County of the state of Virginia, Springfield has its own claim to history, which makes it a great tourist destination. It was once just a saw and grist mill back in the day, between 1796 and 1800. But in 1847, it has become a rural crossroad with its own railroad station and post office. In 1861, a skirmish between Union and Confederate soldiers happened there during the American Civil War.
